Zoe Morris Trainor

ACT, Adults, Available, CBT, Therapist

About

Zoe offers psychological assessment and therapy for adults seeking support with a wide range of mental health difficulties and adjustment to life events.

Zoe has experience working within New Zealand’s prison system, as well as experience in the public health sector. This work has instilled a deep respect for human resilience and for the complexity of people’s life stories. She supports clients from diverse backgrounds and commonly works with anxiety, stress, low mood, emotional regulation difficulties, anger, and relationship challenges.

Zoe’s approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), with elements of Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She helps clients to understand unhelpful patterns, reconnect with what matters most to them, and build skills that support lasting, values-based change. Above all, she prioritises an open and trusting therapeutic relationship. She has a therapeutic style that is compassionate, curious, and direct when helpful.

Outside of work, she enjoys being outdoors camping, ocean swimming, and cooking Mediterranean-inspired meals.
