About

I have worked as a Clinical Psychologist in New Zealand and Ireland since 2013, across a broad range of settings including adult and child mental health services, specialist medical teams, disability services, and private practice. These experiences have allowed me to work alongside people from diverse backgrounds who are facing a wide variety of challenges and life circumstances.

I understand that all of us experience periods of struggle at different points in our lives. I see emotional difficulties as understandable responses to our experiences and circumstances, rather than signs that something is inherently wrong with us. Reaching out for support can be difficult, but it can also be an important step towards understanding ourselves more fully and making meaningful changes. Developing a genuine therapeutic relationship is central to my work. I aim to provide a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where people feel safe, understood, and accepted.

My practice is primarily informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). However, I take an integrative and flexible approach, drawing on a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, attachment-focused and trauma-informed approaches, and other skills-based interventions. Rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor sessions to each person’s individual needs, strengths, goals, and values.

I work with adults experiencing a broad range of difficulties, including those relating to low mood, worry and anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, physical health conditions, substance use-related problems, and other significant life challenges and transitions. I work collaboratively with clients to better understand their experiences and support them in making personally meaningful changes that improve their quality of life.
