About

Karin is a registered Clinical Psychologist who has worked in a range of community and inpatient settings over the past ten years, both in New Zealand and in the UK. She works with adults aged 18+ who are experiencing depression and anxiety, eating and body image concerns, trauma related stress and post-traumatic stress disorder, grief and loss, life changes, relationship problems, and work stress/difficulties.

While Karin’s initial training was in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, she has a particular interest in working with acceptance and mindfulness based approaches as well as Schema Therapy. Karin has completed additional training in Schema Therapy, Mindful Self Compassion, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) and is currently in the process of undergoing accreditation in Schema Therapy. Karin generally works in an integrative way, drawing on a number of different treatment modalities to suit each individual. What is most important to her is that therapy offers a safe space where each individual can feel understood, respected and supported while exploring new ways of thinking and being. Karin is an ACC approved provider for Sensitive Claims.

When not working, Karin enjoys making pottery, being outdoors and walking her two dogs, and travel (when permitted!).
