About
Aimee has been working as a Clinical Psychologist for more than 18 years, helping individuals and families make meaningful, lasting improvements in their mental well-being.
In addition to her clinical psychology training, Aimee is a formally qualified and experienced Family Therapist. She enjoys working with families to strengthen relationships and improve overall family functioning, and has extensive experience with adolescents.
She has a specialist interest in trauma and dissociation, with particular expertise in Dissociative Identity Disorder — both in assessment and treatment. She is experienced in treating PTSD, Complex PTSD, DID, anxiety, phobias, OCD, excessive worry, and panic, and particularly enjoys providing EMDR, including parts-work EMDR.
A significant portion of Aimee’s work involves conducting specialist assessments on behalf of ACC. She accepts referrals from ACC and Lead Providers for Mental Injury Assessments (Sensitive Claims and Physical Injury) and Treatment Reviews (Sensitive Claims). She has specialist expertise in complex trauma assessments, especially where pathological dissociation and Dissociative Identity Disorder are a consideration.
Aimee is also an experienced clinical supervisor, providing supervision for psychology colleagues and other professionals in high-demand roles that intersect with mental health.
She is a member of the NZ College of Clinical Psychologists, EMDRNZ, and the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD).
Outside of work, Aimee does her best to juggle life with three kids and an oversized Retrodoodle.
